| Abstract: | The market of organic produce in GB is analysed, defined as to include all the fruit and vegetables on the retail market which carry an organic symbol. Key trends are summarized. The market worth of 20 million GBP in 1989 represents a real growth of 14 p.c. over 1988. The market for organic produce 1985-1989 is overviewed both by 1985 prices and inflationary growth. Organic produce sales by origin and by sector, and organic food prices 1990 are presented. Major suppliers' shares of market 1990 are shown, and shares of market by type of retailer 1985/1989 are given. Sales of organic produce 1989-1993 are forecast. Consumer attitudes, price, advertising etc. are mentioned briefly. |
