Abstract:According to the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission /EEOC/ in the USA, in fiscal 1989 employers paid about USD 9 million in back compensation and damages in some EEOC cases. Employers paid out about USD 25 million in some other EEOC cases, under the Age Discrimination in Employment Act. The number of all age discrimination cases has risen steadily, and the process is likely to accelerate as older workers become more familiar with law. Some typical age discrimination suites are treated and discussed, including cases received by the American Association of Retired Persons. In the USA there are 24 million persons over the age of 50 that causes serious problems to the nation.
