Abstract:Faced with volatile business environments and an increasing need to view employees as a major source of competitive advantage, many companies are rethinking their human resource strategies and, simultaneosly, the contribution and capacities of their human resource organizations (HRO's). Specifically, what key competencies will be required to run tomorrow's HRO's? How does the current staff measure up? What must be done to bring the staff up to speed? This study was designed to answer these questions for the HRO at Eastman Kodak Company.
