Abstract:This article deals with telecommuters and their co-residents' perspectives on flexible time (or flex-time) and telecommuting (or t-cmg.) relative to gender and division of domestic labour. Human resources (HR) personnel may assume that their work-life policies and flex-work arrangements, e.g. t-cmg., will lead to greater gender equity (or g-egy). United Kingdom's (U.K.) policies assume the male breadwinner model to be replaced by an adult male worker model. It is concluded that such policies may reinforce a household situation with already an equitable gender and career model, but having minimal effect on g-egy. in traditional households.
