Abstract:This paper explores the moderator effect of inter-organizational (herein as: i-org-al.) cooperation (as: co-oprn.) in the relationship (as: r-ship) btw. workplace flexibility (here as: flex.) and innovation performance (as: inn-perf). I-org-al. co-oprn. constitutes a relevant mechanism for a firm to increase its knowledge base concerning new products and processes. High-cooperation firms may have more opportunities to take advantage of flex. for inn-perf. due its facilitation of the access and dispersion of knowledge within the firm. The research hypotheses are tested via a sample of manufacturing and service firms. The results contribute to the literature on flex. and innovation as they show that i-org-al. cprn. moderates the relationship btw. flex. and inn-perf.
