Abstract:The aim of this study is to focus on corporate activities conducted to protect and preserve the environment and to evaluate these activities with respect to social responsibility in a developing country. The aim is also to find out what are the reasons corporations take part in these activities. Are the reasons social expectations, legal obligations or own social awareness. The study is based on data collected from Turkey corporations from the automotive, pharmaceuticals and textile industries. Results show that corporations are mostly influenced by obligatory regulations.
