Abstract:Over the past several years, there has been a growing interest in marketing and public policy issues. After a promising beginning in the 1960s and 1970s, the field slumped in the 1980s. However, the 1990s has been a decade of renewal and growth. Some important events have served as a catalyst to the field's regeneration. First, the annual Marketing and Public Policy Conference has brought together academic researchers, industry representatives, and government officials to discuss current studies and emerging policy issues.
