Abstract:Concern for the environment has finally appeared in the public agenda. In industry good products, results and management are no longer enough to brand a company excellent. Today demonstrable social conscience is valued, environmental management is a necessity. There is a lot of media attention on green values and environmental concerns, American companies have the most highly developed attitudes, policies and implementations, but the British companies don't lag far behind. Committed managers at the top and accountable staff in operations are vital if environment policy is to succeed. Everyone, including industry, needs to take the environment seriously and look for new ways to protect it.
