Abstract:This paper aims to identify a simple technique that can be used to indicate whether flagship urban projects have an impact on city image change. The author uses a quasi-experimental technique on a project in Birmingham, Manchester and Sheffield to demonstrate the potential value. Findings suggest that the technique provides a useful indicator of the effects of flagship projects, particularly when longtitudal research is not possible.
