| Abstract: | After years of yearning to be a line function, human resources is still a fragmented profession. Will it ever find its rightful place, or will its role become increasingly redundant? There are those who say HR professionals can make it as key players, but only by changing the way they do business. Others already have made up their minds, setting little future for the function in the new, changed corporation. Even a strong supporter of the human values, like Ghoshal of the London Business School, relegates HR to a supporting role, but an important one if they want to seize on it. |
