| Abstract: | An overview is presented about the French market for milk, including pasteurized, sterilized and UHT drinking milks. Data are presented about total market size. Growth within the market has mainly been due to strong demand for semi-skimmed UHT milks. Almost all of the French milk market is satisfied by domestic production. Exports are of great importance. The market is segmented and the sectors are compared. The general consumer profile is examined. Industry sources have identified five major categories of milk drinkers. The most important producers are listed. Retail distribution channels are analyzed. Demand is forecasted. |
