Abstract: | Industry and Environmental Associates, an international environmental consultancy, reviews its findings from a recent survey comparing the development, by companies, of a corporate environmental policy /CEP/ in Britain with the USA and Europe. Unlike the USA and Europe, there are few companies in Britain with a total structured CEP. British managers only want to see a rapid pay-back, whereas their counterparts in the USA and the continent realize that CEP involves the anticipation of pressure which may damage reputation and business markets. Companies in Britain do not view future legislation as having a significant impact on their business. |
