The main contents are the following: i) It cirticizes that policy about the concept of governmentality as a means of interpreting the course of recent UK pension policy and its attempts to influence individual saving behaviour. ii) It evaluates the effect introducing personal accounts upon the pensions landscape, and in particular its potential to push forward the government's recent approach to pension provision. iii) How these reforms may create the very real possibility of undermining individual saving for retirement.
