Abstract:In this study the authors research and extend from previous analysis on the choice between internal and external R&D in the context of choosing the right option when trying to optimize the productivity and what is the overall impact in productivity whether a company internalizes or externalizes its R&D. The articles main finding is that technological strategy developed by the firm has an effect on the company's productivity. Further they suggest that the technological sourcing decision has an impact in the relationship between technological capital and productivity. Thus they conclude that the decision between internal and external R&D does matter.
