Abstract:The advertising and marketing expenses of 2815 hotels were analyzed in this article to gain a better understanding about the marketing expenditures of lodging industry. Particular attention was paid on room revenues and net operating incomes (NOI). Also issues related to customer loyalty were considered. The results revealed that there are differences between hotel categories in sales and marketing expenditures and hotel performance.
