Abstract:Carlton Communications is the UK's largest provider of production services to television. Its chairmen and chief executive is Green, M. In addition to the monthly management accounts which subsidiaries produce, Green insists on a source and application of funds statement and a written report. Carlton has brought the professionalism of a group culture in financial efficiency to bear on the TV and video companies it has acquired. Green began to cooperate with M. Luckewell who has long experience in television and film. They successfully wrung more profits out of their common acquisitions, both at the operating level and by maximising group accounting techniques.
