| Abstract: | The article deals with the processes involved in handling redundancies. The four stages are discussed in detail to help organisations that do not have a well-defined redundancy procedure. The stages are:1.Consulting with staff and trade unions 2.Taking avoiding action 3.Selecting staff for redundancy 4.Providing assistance and compensation. The author emphasises the importance of giving assistance in finding new employment. |
