Abstract: | The author, who has 14 years of active duty as a union negotiator in the finance industry and is a member of the TUC Women's Committee illuminates some union aims of uplifting "women's issues" higher in their bargaining goals. Maximization of membership potential is no doubt behind this collective bargaining device. The author favors an across-the-board handling of equality issues rather than a piecemeal way of tackling single issues, such as equal pay and career development. She rests her case on examples of improved efficiency and productivity via positive action. |
