Abstract:The target group of this mentoring initiative are not the traditionally acknowledged 'disadvantaged'. People in some organisational positions may also be viewed as disadvantaged. The author's research has indicated that many Chief Executives and senior managers are isolated, with no business confidante and little time to think strategically, let alone reflect and synthesise the masses of information they collect in an average day. A group of Chief Executives and senior leaders from across New Zealand were invited to create an Action Learning Group that became known as the Learning Leaders' Group. It is an ongoing group that has met continually for one day every 6-8 weeks for 6 years.
