Abstract:Much has been written concerning good practice in identifying, sampling and classifying small firms from the traditional business-to-business perspective. In addition, over the last ten years there has been a shift from the old-style industrial business to-business-mode of small scale desk research to primarily "consumer" techniques. But there remains less in the literature concerning opportunities to examine the personal perspective of the small business person. This is the focus of this paper.
