| Abstract: | The future shape of European environmental policy will be determined partly, as with policies in other fields , by the interplay of political pressures at both the European and national levels, but it will be determined also by the changing impact of the environment on the EU itself. Environmental policy is a two-way process, in which policies affect the qualities of the natural environment, but the behavior, sometimes unpredictable, of the natural environment impacts back on the economy and on society. |
