| Abstract: | After Hong Kong's return to the motherland, the economic and trade relationship between Hong Kong and inland area is one between the main body of a country and its area where independent tariff system is practised within a sovereignty. But the economic and trade relationship will be handled according to the principle of foreign economic and trade relationship and the transactions between them will be carried out in accordance with the regulations and practice of international economic and trade transactions. Therefore, Hong Kong's return would not exert shock influence on inland market. Hong Kong will also continue to keep its status as an international financial and trade centre and play an active role in promoting the economic prosperity and market's briskness of inland area. |
