| Abstract: | After 1997, the financial relationship between Hong Kong and inland area is one between two currencies, two monetary systems and two financial supervision and management authorities in two regions with different social and economic systems within one sovereignty. After 1997, the current monetary and financial system in Hong Kong will remain unchanged. Hong Kong and inland area have relatively independent financial systems so that the financial contact and co-operation between them can be enhanced. Besides, Hong Kong's status as an international financial centre will not only be kept but be elevated further after 1997. |
