Abstract:At present, the mainland is Hong Kong's large trading partner. The volume of Hong Kong's trade with the mainland accounts for 36% of its total volume of foreign trade. According to an estimation, the trends in the economic co-operation between both areas will be as follows: Hong Kong's investment in the mainland's manufacturing industry will continue to increase. The co-operation between industries in both areas will focus on consolidating the vertical division of work relationship between both areas through processing trade. As Hong Kong's tertiary industry has advantage, it will certainly promote Hong Kong's investment in the mainland if a more flexible policy is adopted. Because of Hong Kong's economic boom and brisk stock market , it is the ideal place for the mainland's enterprises' financing.
