Abstract: | Uncertainties over Hong Kong's future economic prospects remain, but there is little sign that the handover will spell the end of Hong Kong's prosperity. Over the past 10 to 15 years, Hong Kong, one of Asia's most dynamic and successful economies, has successfully managed the transition from manufacturing "tiger" to a mature service-based economy. With the transition barely complete, this same economy is now facing another, and potentially much larger, structural change in its economic and political climate following the handover to China. |
