| Abstract: | Hong Kong is the most important source of foreign investment in the inland area. By the end of 1996 the total utilized investment from Hong Kong in the mainland reached US$ 110 billion or so, accounting for 60% of the total utilized foreign investment. The business in introduction and output between banks in these two areas has increased continuously. And the cooperation in securities between the two areas has also been conducted initially, which will make new progress after 1997. To this end, the inland area should establish new financial system in a bid to make dovetail the two financial systems as soon as possible, accelerate its financial internationalization which would help carry out high-level and-directional financial cooperation between two areas. |
