Abstract:The paper investigates the factors that motivate travellers to seek for spa experiences while travelling in Asia. In addition it attempts to explore the different perceptions of the spa experience and identify the relevant socio-demographic characteristics of Hong Kong spa goers. The survey is an interview study. The findings reveal that relaxation and relief, escape, self-reward and indulgence, and health and beauty enhance travellers to visit spas.
