Abstract: | The 1980s saw an unprecedented level of public and private investment in the skills of adults and young people in Britain. A whole variety of policy initiatives have been introduced to improve the quality and quantity of investment in skills. An upgrading of the key area of intermediate supervisory/technical skills in the country would be the fastest way to improve efficiency in the office, in the reception area, or on the shopfloor. The gains would be immense. |
