Abstract:In-home consupmtion of french produce amounted to 6.2mn tons tin 1995, a small increase on 1994 but a decline of 2 per cent on 1991. A key feature of the market has been an increase in fresh fruit consumption, in contrast to a decline in consumption of fresh vegetables. Thus, domestic consumption of fruit increased by 9.4 per cent to 1, 925,000 tons between 1991 and 1995, while that of vegetables declined by 6.5 per cent o 4,292,000 tons.
