| Abstract: | This paper makes a comparison of social security system between capitalist countries and socialist countries including European socialist countries and China. It discusses the formation and historical function of social security system of the latter countries especially China and at the same time analyzes the operational characteristics of the system before the economic transformation and the existing hidden perils. At last, it raises some constructive suggestions on the establishment of social security network in the course of economic reform in China. It thinks that this network must have flexibility so as to both protect society and adapt to the need of domestic and foreign market competition, and the design of social security projects should benefit the labour flow and integration of dual economy. |
