| Abstract: | The past shows an ongoing trend towards a more integral approach to achieve logistical coordination. In this paper the authors describe a number of developments in the area of logistical coordination within production systems. First they define what logistical coordination is. Additionally they supply definitions on centralization of logistic responsibility and scope of control concepts. Then they give an overview of historic developments in the last forty years and discuss current and future developments in the area of logistics organization and control. |
