Abstract:Advances in office automation technology and electronic commerce are expected to transform the present office environment. This transformation will not be gradual and smooth, but it is expected to raise many technical, behavioural, and even ethical issues. This paper presents a multi-perspective systems-based framework developed from the general concepts of systems thinking. The framework is used to examine and explore issues related to office automation. A case example is presented to demonstrate the application of the framework.
