Abstract:In this paper, a modified Adaptive Structuration Theory (AST) model providing a theoretical framework (hereafter as: f-w.) is proposed. The f-w. explains the appropriation (here as: appr.) process of medical electronic billing systems (MEBS) related with health care services. Using a case study approach, identified are appr. issues when planning and evaluating MEBS usage in medical centers.
