Abstract:A short outline of Bat'a-system management is provided as a contribution to the ongoing search for world-class managerial excellence. It is shown that Bat'a-system, being both European and American in its origins, is based on labor and knowledge integration (rather than division and specialization). More, this system is not based on theory but rooted in practical experience of high performance, quality and business success. The Bat'a-system experience leads directly to modern theory of process-oriented quality management, based on high-technology support and decision-making autonomy of employees. The role of departmental autonomy, full individual responsibility, flexible production, self-management, profit sharing and co-ownership is stressed.
