Abstract:Agricultural commodity exports may be influenced by subsidising and by altering the terms of trade. But the question arises, whether the quantitative magnitude of the responsiveness of export is sufficiently large. A general equilibrium model is theoretically developed, mathematically stated and calibrated for 1984. 12 producing sectors, 13 consuming sectors, 6 household categories and government are investigated. The results indicate that the impact of devaluation will be an increase in output by all producing sectord, an increase in the consumption of goods and services /exclusive of housing/, an increase in export and a fall in imports; government revenue wiil expand. Sensitivity analysis results are discussed.
