| Abstract: | The foreign direct investment policy of Taiwan is discussed. The historical background of the present situation is described. The experiences of a newcomer are analyzed. A detailed statistical analysis is presented about approved outward investment by year and by area. Recent trends are summarized. The methodology and the results of a nationwide survey of private outward investment are summarized. Foreign direct investment is considered in the context of the situation Taiwan now faces. Data are presented about foreign relations and economic prosperity. A successful investment case is described. The policy and purpose of applicable laws are outlined,procedures summarized. |
