Abstract: | This paper aims at two goals: 1. it explores the connections btw. national identity (here as: id-y.) and organizational (here as: org-al.) globalization within the context of three British organizations' attempts to synchronize their corporate and org-al. identities (as: idts.) through diversity management initiatives, 2. it deals with the implications of these connections for current theorizing on org-al. id-y. Based on a Foucauldian theoretical frame, and a data set of 36 in-depth interviews, the complex and highly particular relationships is shown btw. articulations of Britishness, and corporate, organizational and personal idts. |
