Abstract:There is not much research on the empirical relationship between charisma and employee work effort. In this study, it is hypothesized that in decentralized, normative, and professional organizations which are characterized by demanding and philanthropic tasks, group belonging, in its capacity to socially and professionally support employees, suits better in explaining employee work effort compared to leadership charisma. This assumption is supported by hierarchical regression analyses based on data from a bishopric.
