Abstract:The author focused on recent developments in the agrifood sector as a case study to extend the performance metaphor a bit further. The paper presents results from a comparison of supply chain management (hereafter as SCM) and neo-classical economics (hereafter as NE) models. The author aims to demonstrate that SCM offers another way to perform the economy and it should be included in now dominant NE approaches. The paper also documents that technoscientific performances are combined with economic performances in SCM models.
