Abstract: | The case study of Computer Associates, the world's largest software company is presented. CA was built by acquisition, its chiefs are the Wang brothers. Now the challenge for CA is to integrate its vast spectrum of products, and to relate to higher-level IS managers. CA's most recent acquisition, Applied DATA Research /ADR/ has brought a new class of customers to CA, top IS executives. CA's blueprint for applications development is presented. The key components of the company's application construction development project are outlined.
