| Abstract: | A conceptual model for strategic telecommunications planning is developed and empirically validated using data collected from a field survey of practising telecommunications managers. The relationship between the quality of the planning process and other organizational factors such as quality of business planning, the participation of telecommunications manager in the business planning, and the participation of user and top management in telecommunications planning are also investigated. The results provide sufficient support to validate the model. Five dimensions for the planning process are identified that reasonably matched with three of the dimensions in the conceptual model. |
