Abstract: | Strategic networks are becoming increasingly recognized for their potential to reduce transaction costs for firms. Networks are built on trust and it is therefore appropriate to consider partners in the network among the stakeholders in the firm. In this paper, data from an extensive survey of small firms in the United Kingdom have been used to construct a measure of stakeholder involvement in the planning process. There is evidence that the firm's sophistication in strategic planning is linked to greater stakeholder involvement. |
