| Abstract: | Clothing, footwear and household textiles sectors are reviewed. Sectors mentioned above have been affected by the recession. The proportion of household expenditure spent on clothing , footwear and household textiles fell from 7.7% in 1988 to 6.6% in 1991. The level of business failures in all sectors rose again in 1991. Detailed statistics (eg production, balance of trade, wholesale trade, consumption, index of retail prices, employment, volume of import and export) are presented. |
