Abstract:Courting the over-65 consumer is becoming a fine and widely practiced art by companies that realize the spending clout of this rapidly growing group. Generally, companies take one of three approaches. The first is to offer them a price break, the second is to court them with a separate market strategy, and the third is to make the sales and marketing ageless, rather than have special programs that are skewed toward older customers. Marketing pros have advice on how to reposition and rethink product benefits and selling points.
