Abstract:Multi-stakeholder dialogues are examined as an emerging management practice based on reciprocal stakeholder engagement, rather than on unilateral impulses for organisational control. Acknowledgment of the presence of "messy" systemic problems is drawing attention to possibilites for a reciprocal sense-making process that can encompass plural perspectives and a degree of dissensus to cope with paradoxical cognitive constructs such as the dichotomy between "self" and "other".
