Abstract: | It is considered in this case study how corporate South Africa has responded with a selective interpretation of social transformation, as demanded by black economic empowerment (BEE). This interpretation is considered in light of high levels of social inequality and a legacy of inadequate stakeholder engagement. The case study describes the motivation for BEE and how its interpretation is symptomatic of non-inclusive consultation. |
