Abstract:This article aims at exploring the tensions and ambivalences of new and old technology and political visions of keeping ... quality care and services (here as: q-c-and-servs.) for elderly citizens (as: eld-citzs.) by using of new information technologies. The visions of politicians and social service managers of keeping alive the welfare state ... to offer q-c-and-servs. for eld-citzs. are compared with the experiences of female care assistants and their expectations of technology. In this exploration, a feminist figure - the cyborg - will be used. It is considered how care assistants are integrated in networks of socio-technical relations btw. humans and non-humans etc.
