| Abstract: | Since the Urugay Round of the GATT could be finished in December of 1993, it is high time to evaluate the results that had been reached and the problems that remained unsolved. It is argued that the Round was in itself an important event, because it was to deal with issues formerly excluded from the traditional list of tade policy subjects. These issues are presented in the article as well as the course and the important events of the negotiations. The fundamental conflicts of interests are investigated and the results and impacts of the Round are examined in detail. Finally, new problems to be solved are identified and the new world trade order is outlined. |
