| Abstract: | Following a two-year study, sponsored in part by the IPD, the authors suggest that many organizations need to transform their whole system of management and development, starting with a fundamental shift towards a partnership approach. The key message is that the whole system by which people are managed and developed is handicapping, rather than positively contributing to, the creation of value for the organization's stakeholders. |
