Abstract:This paper discusses Chicago's Steppenwolf Theatre's success factors. The theatre company has transformed from small, scatterbrained operation into a well-oiled marketing and fundraising machine. While there is very little public funding available in the U.S., its management team has to make full use of new information technologies to better understand its audience and to identify future subscribers and potential donors.
